How it works
Tap the screen to start a round. The number drops by one each minute. When thirty minutes are up, your phone rings. Tap the 0, stand up, and walk with your phone. After ten seconds of walking, the round is done. Back at 30, the next round doesn't start on its own, so tap again when you want another. Press and hold the screen for about a second to stop a round at any time.
Swipe up on the resting 30 to open the in-app guide.
Common questions
- It didn't ring when time was up
- Open Settings > Thirty and make sure notifications are allowed. On iOS 26 and later, also allow alarms, which ring even in Silent mode or Focus. With notifications alone, Silent mode or Focus may hold the reminder back.
- The ten seconds never start counting
- Thirty starts counting once it detects a walking rhythm. Walk while holding your phone. A phone left on the desk won't count, and neither will shaking it. If Thirty is turned off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness, it can't count either.
- Does the next round start automatically
- No. You start every round yourself.
- How do I put Thirty on my Home Screen
- On iOS 18 and later, press and hold the Thirty icon on your Home Screen and choose the square widget at the bottom of the menu. The icon turns into a widget that shows only the number. On earlier versions, press and hold an empty area, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Thirty.
- Does Thirty play music
- No. The scenes are AI-generated photos, and reminders use the system sound.
- Will Thirty improve my health
- Thirty reminds you to stand up. It isn't a medical device and can't diagnose or treat any condition.
