Privacy Policy
Thirty is an iPhone app made by Gu Canyang. It does one thing: after thirty minutes of sitting, it reminds you to get up and walk. This page explains how Thirty treats your information.
We collect no data
Thirty has no account, never goes online, shows no ads, and includes no third-party analytics or tracking tools. Nothing you do in Thirty is sent to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your iPhone
To keep reminders working, Thirty saves a few things on your iPhone:
- when the current round started, whether it is waiting for you to stand up, which scene the round uses, and the order of the scenes to come;
- your progress in the 10-second move;
- a completion record: how many rounds you finished today, how many in total, and when you last finished one;
- the identifier of the system alarm, so the app can find and cancel it when you stop a round;
- a note that you chose "In 5 minutes", so a reminder is only delayed once;
- the error message from an action that could not finish, shown when you come back to the app;
- whether you have seen the guide and whether you skipped the widget tip.
This information is stored locally, in the app's own settings storage and the system keychain. Only Thirty and its widget can read it, and it never leaves the device.
Motion data
The 10-second move reads the iPhone's motion sensors to tell whether you are walking with your phone. Motion data is processed on the device as it arrives. It is not stored and not sent anywhere. Thirty only keeps your progress in the 10-second move. The first time you use it, iOS asks you to allow Motion & Fitness access, and you can turn it off in Settings at any time.
Notifications and alarms
Thirty reminds you with iOS local notifications and, on iOS 26 and later, system alarms. iOS schedules these on your iPhone. No server is involved.
Statistics from Apple
If you choose to share with app developers in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements, Apple may give us aggregated crash reports and usage statistics. Apple collects and processes this data, and it does not identify you. You can turn it off in the same place at any time.
Deleting your data
Deleting Thirty removes the settings it keeps inside the app. A few reminder records kept in the system keychain may remain on the iPhone after the app is deleted. Only Thirty can read them, and they are replaced if you install it again.
Children
Thirty collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If the way Thirty handles information changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
